Tasting notes :
Nose : complex, deep, refined, elegant and fruity with aromas of candied citrus fruits (mandarin), dried apricot, nutmeg, tobacco and cocoa.
Palate : full-bodied, velvety and exceptionally well-balanced with flavours of toasted almond, vanilla, leather and caramel.
Finish : long and warm with spicy and woody notes.
Terroir : Bas-Armagnac. Composed of ‘boulbènes’, a cold soil typical of Gascogne, composed of clay, silt and sand and fawn-coloured sands (ferruginous and sandy-silty soils).
Grape variety : Baco.
Harvest : 1976. A hot, dry summer produced grapes with very high aromatic concentration thanks to ideal ripening conditions. The wine has a low sugar content.
Ageing : minimum 45 years old in French oak barrels.
Enjoy neat in a tulip glass as a digestif.
